The considered approach

What is EXION BODY?

EXION BODY is a non-invasive body-contouring treatment designed for selected areas of localized, pinchable fat and mild-to-moderate skin laxity. It delivers radiofrequency and targeted ultrasound from outside the body while active cooling helps protect the skin surface. It is intended for subtle contour refinement—not large-volume fat removal, muscle building or surgical-level change.

How EXION BODY works

The EXION BODY applicator combines radiofrequency and targeted ultrasound to warm selected tissue while active cooling supports comfort and surface protection. This controlled energy can support collagen remodeling and gradual improvement in localized fat thickness.

  • Radiofrequency — delivers controlled thermal energy to selected tissue.
  • Targeted ultrasound — adds focused mechanical energy within the treatment zone.
  • Active cooling — supports comfort and helps protect the skin surface.

EXION BODY treatment areas

EXION BODY may be appropriate for someone near a stable weight who wants to improve a localized pocket of pinchable fat, mild-to-moderate laxity or both. Significant excess skin, visceral fullness or a goal of dramatic fat removal requires a different approach.

Areas that may be considered

  • Abdomen and flanks — for selected pockets of subcutaneous fat and mild laxity.
  • Upper arms — for a modest pinchable layer and mild-to-moderate skin looseness.
  • Inner or outer thighs — for selected localized fullness and skin-quality concerns.
  • Additional areas — may be considered after an in-person assessment confirms safe applicator contact and suitability.

Is EXION BODY a weight-loss treatment?

No. EXION BODY is intended for localized contouring, not overall weight loss or visceral fat. It is best considered when weight is reasonably stable and the goal is to refine a specific area.

What to expect at your appointment

Your visit begins with an assessment of the treatment area, photographs and baseline measurements when appropriate. The handpiece is then moved across the marked area while contact, temperature and comfort are monitored. Most patients feel controlled warmth.

  • Before treatment — review recent weight changes, pregnancy or postpartum status, implants, prior surgery and relevant medical history.
  • During treatment — the skin remains intact while the selected area receives controlled radiofrequency and ultrasound energy.
  • After treatment — temporary redness, tenderness, swelling or altered sensation may occur, but surgical recovery is not expected.

What does the research show?

A 2026 prospective study evaluated 23 participants after four EXION BODY treatments. Ultrasound measurements showed average reductions in subcutaneous fat thickness of 16.3% at one month and 22.5% at three months. The average reduction at the optional six-month visit was also 22.5%; 15 participants completed that follow-up.

These are study averages, not a prediction of your result. Treatment area, starting tissue, weight stability and individual response influence progress.

Results and your treatment plan

Results develop gradually and are evaluated through photographs and local measurements—not the number on the scale. The number and spacing of treatments depend on the area, starting tissue and desired degree of improvement. Maintenance can be discussed after the initial response is evaluated.

Talk to our Glendale team
Will EXION BODY make me lose weight?

No. It is intended for localized contouring, not meaningful total-body weight loss.

Can it treat visceral belly fat?

No. Visceral fat lies inside the abdominal cavity and is not the same target as pinchable subcutaneous tissue.

Is it the same as liposuction?

No. It is non-invasive and produces a more modest, gradual change; liposuction surgically removes fat.

Can it tighten major loose skin after weight loss?

It may not meet that goal. Significant excess skin often requires a surgical consultation.

Who should not have EXION BODY?

Treatment may need to be postponed or avoided during pregnancy, active infection, open wounds, impaired healing, rapid weight change, recent surgery or with certain implanted electronic devices or metal near the treatment area. Final candidacy is determined during consultation.

What affects the cost of EXION BODY?

The quote depends on the exact service, treatment area and proposed course. At your Glendale consultation, we explain the recommendation and pricing before you decide. No fixed package is assumed for every patient.
