What is Traditional Microneedling?

Treatment depth and areas are chosen for your skin. We discuss the differences between traditional microneedling, RF microneedling, and any proposed topical additions before you decide.

A conversation about

  • 01Uneven texture
  • 02The appearance of fine lines
  • 03Selected acne-scar concerns
01 · Traditional Microneedling

What can traditional microneedling address?

People commonly ask about uneven texture, visible pores, fine lines and depressed acne scars. Scar type matters: narrow, deep or tethered scars may need a different or combined approach.

We also assess active breakouts, pigment history, recent tanning and how your skin has responded to previous procedures. Treatment depth is selected for the concern and area rather than assuming deeper settings are better.

02 · Traditional Microneedling

Microneedling with ariessence pure PDGF+

ariessence pure PDGF+ is an optional topical post-procedure product containing recombinant PDGF-BB and hyaluronic acid. It is applied after microneedling, without a blood draw or additional injections.

This is different from PRP or PRFM, which are prepared from your own blood. We explain the proposed product, its role in post-treatment care and whether it fits your individual plan.

03 · Traditional Microneedling

Traditional microneedling versus RF microneedling

Traditional microneedling uses mechanical channels. EXION RF Microneedling adds radiofrequency energy at selected depths. The added energy changes both the potential effects and risks.

Your concern, skin type, prior treatment history and acceptable recovery guide the choice. Both options can be discussed during a Rejuvanet skin consultation.

04 · Traditional Microneedling

Recovery and results after microneedling

Pinkness or redness, warmth, tightness, sensitivity and flaking can follow treatment. Your clinician gives you instructions on cleansing, moisturizer, sunscreen and when to resume makeup or active skin care.

An early glow after redness settles is different from longer-term collagen remodeling. Texture and scar changes are assessed over time, and a series may be proposed for more established concerns.

Talk to our Glendale team
Can I add ariessence PDGF to traditional microneedling?

Yes, when appropriate. ariessence pure PDGF+ is applied topically after treatment and does not require a blood draw or additional injection.

How does microneedling compare with a VI Peel?

Microneedling creates controlled mechanical channels; VI Peel uses chemical exfoliation. The best starting point depends on whether tone, active acne, scarring or texture is your main concern.

Can microneedling be used on the scalp?

Scalp microneedling is a separate service with its own assessment and goals. See our scalp microneedling with ariessence PDGF+ page.

How soon can I restart retinol or exfoliating acids?

Follow your provider’s written aftercare. Timing depends on your skin response, treatment depth and products; do not restart irritating products while the skin is healing.

What affects the cost of Traditional Microneedling?

The quote depends on the exact service, treatment area and proposed course. At your Glendale consultation, we explain the recommendation and pricing before you decide. No fixed package is assumed for every patient.
